FAITH – FAMILY – OLD FASHIONED LIVING – COMMUNITY
I am married to my high school sweetheart and together we have 4 amazing children. JC and I have both become passionate about a more natural, or as I like to call it old fashioned, way of living. The realization that it isn’t just the food we eat but also the products we use that affect our health has had a huge impact on my family. We love essential oils, we homeschool, we raise rabbits and have a small urban homestead. The patch of land we call ours might be little, but we try to use as much of it as possible to help us provide for our family as naturally as possible.
I remember being asked at a Bible Study group one night, “Who are you outside of being a Mom?” At the time I had completely lost sight of who I was, who I had hoped to be, I had lost the ability to dream. I was “just” a Mom, trying to get my footing back after finding out that a back injury would mean my husband was going to be retired from the military. In the midst of feeling like all our plans were going up in smoke, God relit a fire in me. Slowly, I started feeling like I had a purpose outside of “just” being Mommy.
That Bible Study I was a part of left a HUGE impact on me. The ladies that were there for me made me realize just how important it is to have a strong support system. My goal is that together we can build a similar community of Mommas lifting one another up and encouraging each other. I pray that this blog can be a blessing to someone and remind all of y’all that YOU are the BELOVED Daughter of a good, good Father!
